Application — Growth

Traveler (20oz) carries 1213 reviews at 4.7 stars. That proof is a creative asset your ads can lead with.

Danilo Vicioso

Who I am

  • Former COO of Tabs. Built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it.
  • Founded Mainstreet, a consumer home-services platform: a team of 70, $25M raised (Greylock, Khosla, YC, Tim Ferriss). It failed.
  • Before that: Quintessential Ventures, an early seat at a high-growth startup, and entrepreneur-in-residence at Prehype.
  • I'm moving into growth specifically. The creative and top-of-funnel work is what I want to be doing every day.

What I noticed

  • Traveler (32oz) – Midnight Bats shows 1818 reviews at 4.6 stars, and Traveler (20oz) – Sage shows 1213 at 4.7. That is real proof, and it can open ads before any feature does.
  • Free shipping starts on orders over $54.99, while a Sport (20oz) in Clay is $34.99. No single bottle I saw clears that line, so a bundle is the natural ad offer.
  • Coffee Traveler at $34.99 says "Keeps drinks hot up to 6 hours, cold up to 12". That line speaks to commuters, a different buyer from the Sport bottle.

What I built

What I'd do here

  • My KPI: scale ad spend, hold target CAC. Everything else follows from that, whether the bottle is a Traveler or a Sport.
  • Week to week: launching a bunch of different experiments, losers killed early. One variable per test, from the Ease2o lid to the Traveler shape.
  • Creators I'd recruit: gym-goers for the Sport bottle, commuters for the Coffee Traveler, and desk-day sippers for the Ease2o with its soft straw.
  • Reporting so you never have to ask. Daily CAC. Weekly what we learned. Monthly cohort payback, tied to each bottle's first order.
  • Event tracking I'd spec and work through with your team. That part isn't me. I can't see your checkout, so that is where we start.

Creators come on two a week, so ten are live by week six. Each posts seven videos a week, from 14 in week two to 70 in week six. New ads and landing pages follow the creators. Proposed.

Creator videos a week = creators live × videos per creator. Week 1: 0 × 7 = 0; Week 2: 2 × 7 = 14; Week 3: 4 × 7 = 28; Week 4: 6 × 7 = 42; Week 5: 8 × 7 = 56; Week 6: 10 × 7 = 70.

How I'd start

  • Build a claims sheet from your own product pages, so every creator brief uses the same hot, cold and ice-cold wording and nothing beyond it.
  • Recruit the first two creators: one gym-goer for the Sport bottle and one commuter for the Coffee Traveler, then brief each on a single hook.

I'd love to chat if this makes sense. Grab a time here.
